Veneers

What are porcelain Veneers?

Veneers are porcelain shells that look like real teeth. These shells are only attached to the very fronts of your teeth, so you can think of them as a way to cover imperfections that can have an impact on your smile. Despite being thin in nature, dental veneers can last as long as 10 years before needing to be replaced with new ones. Veneers can be considered a type of cosmetic procedure because of their ability to transform the look of your smile.

Why would you want Veneers?

You may want to have dental veneers placed if you’re tired of feeling badly about your smile. If your smile is chipped, stained, discolored or unevenly spaced, veneers can do a wonderful job of correcting these issues. Little to absolutely no anesthetic is required to place veneers, so it’s an easy and incredibly quick procedure to have done. The veneers are matched to your smile, so they look totally natural at all times.

What happens during the procedure to place Veneers?

You’ll first need to come into our office to have a consult with one of our doctors. We’ll determine if veneers can help improve your smile. The fronts of your teeth are slightly buffed down to make room for the brand new veneers. You’ll have impressions taken that are then used to craft the veneers. The dental veneers are carefully and evenly placed on your teeth and adhered into place. They are filed down so that they look more natural and improve the appearance of your smile.

If you would like veneers or want to inquire more about this procedure, call our office today and our staff members will be happy to assist you.

What makes you a candidate for Dental Veneers?

Veneers do not actually remove the imperfections of your teeth, rather they cover them up. If restorative or corrective work is needed, this will be done prior to having the veneers placed by our doctors. Some of the reasons you may be a candidate for veneers include:

• You have stained, discolored or yellowed teeth
• Your teeth are chipped and cracked
• You have large gaps and uneven spaces between teeth
• You don’t like the way that your smile looks at all
