Invisalign
Invisalign is a branded term for a type of nearly invisible prosthetic braces-like appliances designed to help shift teeth into their proper position.
Invisalign treatment is a multi-step process. First, an orthodontist or dentist takes a mold of the patient’s teeth. This in turn is used to create a digital tooth scan. The computerized model reveals current teeth spacing and can estimate desired teeth positions. Invisalign aligners are created for each stage of the repositioning process. Each invisalign aligner is worn for 20 hours a day for one to two weeks. Slowly, the teeth shift positions, with an alignment agreed upon between the dentist and patient.
Most Invisalign treatments take a little over a year, or about 13-14 months.
